ABOUT THE DESIGNER
KAITSAUKA® was founded by Canadian couture veteran Joseph Everett, member of the Siksika Blackfoot Nation. Together with Aidan Amore, his muse and creative associate revelling in challenging clear-cut labels as a cre/actor, they founded “the uneKSpected” on a mission to channel sustainable and avant-garde concepts in fashion, film, art & music… Together they are the recipient of the ASVOFF15 PEOPLE'S CHOICE award created by Diane Pernet. She premiered the launch of their interdisciplinary label during an exclusive performance presented by Ly.as at DOVER STREET MARKET PARIS to close ASVOFF16 with Michèle Lamy presiding over the jury counting notably the Canadian fashion duo: MATIÈRES FÉCALES.

KOYAANISQATSI
FASHN DISRPTR Award
According to the Hopi language the phrase KOYAANISQATSI hints at “a state of life that calls for another way of living” or a state of “life disintegrating”. The collection indeed strives to deconstruct the codes that make up our endangered societies and species, governed by regressively rigidified gender norms, spiciest hierarchies, and tech-enhanced standards of beauty. The silhouettes thus reassemble a conglomerate of detached-pieces to remount them in a queer manner which disidentifies with any concept of normalcy, bending the poles between masculine and feminine, blurring the limits between animal and machine, investigating where lies the fine line between angels and demons.
