ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Sam Sun is a Filipino-Canadian independent artist and designer with a focus on utilitarian and sustainable fashion. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources ranging from outdoor gear to science fiction media, his work blends practicality with a unique visual aesthetic. Graduating from OCAD University with a degree in Industrial Design, Sam’s approach to fashion treats clothing both as a functional tool and a visual statement.

Cresthaven is a collection that reimagines and embraces military design through a civilian and science fiction worldbuilding lens. The collection envisions a future world where remnants of military conflict and the aesthetics of war have become part of daily life, as the line between military and civilian gear have become blurred. By using military surplus garments and equipment as a primary material for the creation of the collection, Cresthaven not only presents a more conscious approach to production but also prompts a deeper reflection on the systems of control and conflict that shape the world.
