ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Evan Clayton is the founder and visionary behind his self-titled label EVAN CLAYTON, a brand that marries art and design to create strong political, personal, and imaginative statements in every piece of work. Since his first release in 2011, Evan has since become an internationally known name in fashion with collections presented in Canada, Austria, and Japan in addition to features in Vogue UK, Vogue China, Paper Magazine, Nylon, and more.
Evan has notably dressed the likes of Doja Cat, Allie X, Brooke Candy, Kali Uchis, Cupcakke, and drag artists from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

PHYLLIS
EVAN CLAYTON is proud to unveil his latest collection, PHYLLIS, in collaboration with Fashion Art Toronto as a part of their FASHN DISRPTR Program. Conceived as a love letter to family, both chosen and blood, Phyllis is an eclectic, eccentric, and strangely glamorous study in identity and connection. The collection is emotive and honest, weaving personal memory with cultural touchstones to create a fashion story unlike any other.
The references for Clayton’s 16th collection span across time and influence, from historical weaponized femininity to the surreal visions of Tim Burton and the graphic nostalgia of Batman: The Animated Series. A mishmash of decades, including the 1940s, 1960s, and 1980s, collide with Thierry Mugler’s dramatic glamour, anecdotes from trans history, and tender reflections on the designer’s grandmother. The result is a collection that embraces contradiction while celebrating individuality.
